What to do if you face problems with SchemingMind Tuning.
General status
The extension is not officially supported by SchemingMind. In case you face any kind of problems with the main service, uninstall it and check whether they persist before reporting the problem to the site administrator.
Also, the extension is highly dependant on the current structure of the site interface. In case of its changes, some features may stop working. Usually I will be trying to update the extension when necessary, but it need not happen overnight. Again: if you face such issues, report the problems and disable the extension until notified about upgrade.
Problem reporting
Best place to report the problems is the Help and Support forum. Remember to mention in the title, that the problem you describe is related to the extension.
Do not report problems with the extension to the site administrators.
Known problems
If you use version older than 1.11.2, automatical updates fail to work. To correct this, just install newest version manually, clicking the Download link.
Default piece-set changing pane sometimes lacks the scrollbar. Scenario: open the SmTuning Preferences, visit the Pieces tab, click Change button displayed right to the default set name, the list displayed here sometimes lacks scrollbar. I am not sure about the reasons for this, but I suspect Firefox is misbehaving here. Workaround: use alternative method:
- click the Open Configuration button placed in the bottom part of the same pane (it opens pieceset configuration for all variants),
- locate Chess on the list shown (usually first item) and click the Change button in this row.
