SamuraiGoroh(1799) whispers: Didn't analyzed much my rival, but he seemed like a well around player, so this game is going to be tough 2...Nc6 (0:34) 3.Bb5 (0:08)
SamuraiGoroh(1799) whispers: At least it's a king's pawns opening, so I know the line 3...d6 (0:21) 4.Bxc6+ (0:05) bxc6 (0:02)
SamuraiGoroh(1799) whispers: That's odd, I though he wouldn't move fast. But I guess since it's opening, he knew which way he wanted to go 5.h3 (0:35) Nf6 (1:00) 6.Nc3 (0:05) d5 (0:31) 7.exd5 (0:30) Nxd5 (1:07) 8.Nxe5 (0:39) Qg5 (1:48)
SamuraiGoroh(1799) whispers: I'm not focused on the game, I though I could get my pawn back, but I guess maybe not :( 9.O-O (2:21)
SamuraiGoroh(1799) whispers: Or yes?!
SamuraiGoroh(1799) whispers: Bxh3 9...Bxh3 (0:20) 10.Qf3 (0:43)
SamuraiGoroh(1799) whispers: Bxg2 Qxg2 Qxe5 maybe?
SamuraiGoroh(1799) whispers: Because Rh1 is not protected, so I can get the knight on e5
SamuraiGoroh(1799) whispers: mmm, Bxg2 doesn't work, he has a mate threat with Qxf7+ Qd7#
SamuraiGoroh(1799) whispers: Either Qxe5 or Be6 I guess
SamuraiGoroh(1799) whispers: Qxe5 looks riskier but better I think 10...Qxe5 (5:40) 11.Qxh3 (0:14)
SamuraiGoroh(1799) whispers: White's c pawn is weak, but I need to castle
SamuraiGoroh(1799) whispers: Guess I'll check after the game if Nb4 was worth or not 11...Bd6 (2:58)
SamuraiGoroh(1799) whispers: If only my c pawns weren't doubled, I would had gone with Nb4 12.Nxd5 (0:55) cxd5 (0:03) 13.Qe3 (0:08)
SamuraiGoroh(1799) whispers: I almost though it was a blunder, but I can't play Qh2#
SamuraiGoroh(1799) whispers: meh, this seems like a drawn game with all those trades
SamuraiGoroh(1799) whispers: Maybe I should had avoid some... 13...O-O (1:12) 14.Qxe5 (0:44) Bxe5 (0:00) 15.d3 (0:14) Rfe8 (0:28)
SamuraiGoroh(1799) whispers: Aiming for a cheap Bh2 check 16.Rb1 (0:14)
SamuraiGoroh(1799) whispers: He didn't played Re1, oh well 16...Re6 (0:39) 17.b3 (0:07)
SamuraiGoroh(1799) whispers: So Bb2 AND more trades...
SamuraiGoroh(1799) whispers: Does he think he's better in endgames, or just doesn't want to win? 17...c5 (0:59) 18.Ba3 (0:30) Bd4 (0:44) 19.Bb2 (0:07) Bxb2 (0:09) 20.Rxb2 (0:03) Re2 (0:01) 21.Rfb1 (0:21) Rae8 (0:28) 22.c4 (0:17)
SamuraiGoroh(1799) whispers: I could try Re1+ and have his back row, or play d4 and lock the pawns
SamuraiGoroh(1799) whispers: Either way this is going to be a boring drawn game...
SamuraiGoroh(1799) whispers: Maybe dxc is slightly better
SamuraiGoroh(1799) whispers: Considering a5 to stop b4 and I think I'm fine if he plays cxd 22...a5 (4:18) 23.Kf1 (0:08) Rxb2 (1:55) 24.Rxb2 (0:03) d4 (0:08) 25.Re2 (0:15)
SamuraiGoroh(1799) whispers: Mmm, I could play Re6 and maybe have something if he trades rooks
SamuraiGoroh(1799) whispers: else, I can just play Kf8 and get closer to the center...
SamuraiGoroh(1799) whispers: What I have to consider is if he can sac his queenside pawns in order to put me in zugszwang
SamuraiGoroh(1799) whispers: But I think my kingside pawns can advance faster while the king defends the center
RobertFrost(1793) whispers: Go Sam!
SamuraiGoroh(1799) whispers: I think is best to move the king and then decide where the pawns should be, because once moved, then can't go back
SamuraiGoroh(1799) whispers: So Kf8 Rxe Kxe Kf2 Kf7 25...Kf8 (5:19) 26.Rb2 (0:15)
SamuraiGoroh(1799) whispers: Hmm, after all those trades, he wants to keep his rook?
SamuraiGoroh(1799) whispers: That seems like a lost tempo to me 26...Re6 (0:43) 27.a3 (0:17) Rb6 (0:21) 28.Ke2 (0:10) Ke7 (0:07) 29.Kf3 (0:04) f5 (0:41) 30.Kf4 (0:12) Kf6 (0:01) 31.g3 (0:07)
SamuraiGoroh(1799) whispers: He doesn't seem good at endings I would say 31...g5+ (0:18) 32.Kf3 (0:02) h5 (0:28) 33.Rb1 (0:21)
RobertFrost(1793) whispers: looks real good for black
RobertFrost(1793) whispers: h4 seems like the finisher
SamuraiGoroh(1799) whispers: I could play Rb7 to lose a tempo and trade pawns if he goes to Rh1
SamuraiGoroh(1799) whispers: But have to analyze if it's good to trade them or not
SamuraiGoroh(1799) whispers: I can go with a4 and create some chaos on the queenside pawns
SamuraiGoroh(1799) whispers: But then his pawns turn a bit dangerous 33...Rb7 (3:47) 34.Rb2 (0:15)
SamuraiGoroh(1799) whispers: Guess we are stuck
SamuraiGoroh(1799) whispers: I don't want to move my queenside structure and I guess he won't go with Rh1
SamuraiGoroh(1799) whispers: so I'll offer draw after Rb6
RobertFrost(1793) whispers: hmmm
SamuraiGoroh(1799) whispers: Just forgot how you do that XD
RobertFrost(1793) whispers: why not h4 34...Rb6 (1:27) SamuraiGoroh offers a draw.
RobertFrost(1793) whispers: after h4gxh4 gxh4 i think black has a clear advantage because of the passed pawn. dstrout accepts the draw request. Game drawn by mutual agreement 1/2-1/2

samuraigoroh (2015-05-02): I consider my skills rusty, so I opted to get a sure half point instead of risking a point. Maybe I should had played all-in and go with h4 (or a4), but it would lengthen the game and probably still draw it.
