Diboss(2130) whispers: looks ok still }
52...Kd7 {(0:34)
Jammes(1902) whispers: yes, but white has the eaer path
Jammes(1902) whispers: s+
Minhaz(1676) whispers: White has weakness on both sides. So trading rooks will win it for black I think
Minhaz(1676) whispers: May be
Jammes(1902) whispers: no trade of rooks is lostfor black as long whites king is in the squatre
Funkmaus(2179) whispers: trade rooks wins for white ;) all he needs is to be in quadrat of h5-pawn at the moment of trade }
53.Kd4 {(2:30)} Kc6 {(0:06)} 54.Rg4 {(0:04)
Minhaz(1676) whispers: yes, then black pushes h pawn, white has to stop it
Minhaz(1676) whispers: the black's king gobbles up white's pawns
Minhaz(1676) whispers: and then?
Funkmaus(2179) whispers: black king cant gobble white pawns
Minhaz(1676) whispers: Oh yes
Minhaz(1676) whispers: Sorry didn't notice that :D
Minhaz(1676) whispers: Yes right c pawn promotes
Funkmaus(2179) whispers: right, covered passer has more power then a far away passer

Diboss(2130) whispers: draw is the goal here for black }
56...Rh8 {(2:16)} 57.Kf5 {(0:14)
Jammes(1902) whispers: yes draw=glory
Funkmaus(2179) whispers: it looks easy draw to me - from blacks side
Diboss(2130) whispers: very technical though
xivarmy(1979) whispers: Rd8-Rd5 now to activate the rook?
Jammes(1902) whispers: wich way funk h pwn is lost
Diboss(2130) whispers: the h-pawn isn't really that important
Diboss(2130) whispers: black needs to make sure he can grab the b pawn in exchange for the h
Jammes(1902) whispers: no way imo
xivarmy(1979) whispers: idea being that once white takes the h-pawn with the R, black instead takes the 4th and gets the white b-pawn
Jammes(1902) whispers: 4th is covered by rook
xivarmy(1979) whispers: won't be after Rxh5 :) }
57...Kd5 {(2:41)
Jammes(1902) whispers: ttats why kxh5
xivarmy(1979) whispers: that's why Rd8-Rd5 then. Kxd5 no longer an option }
58.Kg5 {(0:33)
Diboss(2130) whispers: not good now
xivarmy(1979) whispers: that's why Rd8-Rd5 then. Kxh5 no longer an option*
xivarmy(1979) whispers: yea, now it's a lot harder for black i think
Diboss(2130) whispers: the king should have stayed, should have moved the rook as you said
Diboss(2130) whispers: the king can't go after the b-pawn, that should be obvious
xivarmy(1979) whispers: anyone know a site with 7 man tablebases for after the h-pawn falls. i'm really curious if there is a defence now
Jammes(1902) whispers: 6 is highest i think
Jammes(1902) whispers: shredderchess.com
xivarmy(1979) whispers: no, 7 exist, they're not practical to distribute because they take terabytes... i thought there might be an online source where you could input a position though }
58...Re8 {(4:21)} 59.Kxh5 {(0:06)
Jammes(1902) whispers: try shredderchess. nly site i know
xivarmy(1979) whispers: yea, that one's only 6 as are the ones i usually use. ah well
Jammes(1902) whispers: and let me know if 7 includd
Jammes(1902) whispers: ok
Funkmaus(2179) whispers: I thought there been a way to play rook down, to c1, and get Rc4 when white eaten h-pawn
Funkmaus(2179) whispers: I was wrong! }
59...Re5+ {(1:26)} 60.Kg6 {(0:04)} Re1 {(1:10)} 61.Kf6 {(0:27)
xivarmy(1979) whispers: Rc1-c4 might still work if white's king stays on that side of the board. }
61...Rc1 {(1:05)
xivarmy(1979) whispers: Kf5 only move? so that after Rc4 Rxc4 bxc4 Kf4 into the square of the pawn }

xivarmy(1979) whispers: hm, the b-pawn is a shelter for the white king, nice
Jammes(1902) whispers: rookendings are the easiest and the most complicated in one
xivarmy(1979) whispers: Kc6 b4 Kb6 b3 c6 Rc1 c7+ Rxc7 Rxc7 b2... so close yet so far, is there an improvement for white in there? }
68.c6 {(5:24)} b4 {(0:39)} 69.c7+ {(0:52)} Kc8 {(0:08)
xivarmy(1979) whispers: ah yes, this makes the rook make the move early, c7+ Kc8 Kc6 Rc1+ Kb6 and the b-pawn isn't advanced enough to sac for the c-pawn }
70.Kc6 {(0:11)
Jammes(1902) whispers: kd might improve ur line
Jammes(1902) whispers: 6
Mekk(1832) whispers: what a pity I forgot to give upthis b pawn some mvoes ago ;-)
olechos(1773) whispers: brawo Mekk! }

Jammes(1902) whispers: white in danger to lose }
74.Rd2 {(0:21)
Jammes(1902) whispers: ok missed this
xivarmy(1979) whispers: maybe white still doesn't win... Rc2 is a nuisance }
74...Rc4 {(1:46)
Minhaz(1676) whispers: Rc2, Rxc2, bxc2, c8=Q
Minhaz(1676) whispers: White would win, right?
xivarmy(1979) whispers: ah yes, missed that :)
Minhaz(1676) whispers: :D
Mekk(1832) whispers: my last chance to win was c8=Q Rxc8 Rxc8 b2, does not seem there will be another opportunity to provoke blunder. So we lost another match :-(
Minhaz(1676) whispers: Looks like a draw }
75.Rb2 {(6:35)
xivarmy(1979) whispers: tablebase has win-in-34 for Kb7. so the question is how does white make progress after Rb4+ Kc8 there }
75...Kd7 {(2:03)} 76.Rd2+ {(0:34)
xivarmy(1979) whispers: Kd6 was listed as only forced draw there - not quite sure why, but it's a draw if the black king had made its way out to e5, but a loss with it on e7/e6... }
76...Ke7 {(0:10)} 77.Rb2 {(0:01)} Kd7 {(0:07)} 78.Rd2+ {(0:01)} Ke7 {(0:10)
Mekk(1832) whispers: drawing 50moves ago was easier
Mekk(1832) whispers: but this way more fun
Jammes(1902) whispers: unfortunatly its no draw
Minhaz(1676) whispers: how Jammes?
xivarmy(1979) whispers: might turn out that way still - Kb7 is still the only winning move
Minhaz(1676) whispers: who wins?
Jammes(1902) whispers: as xivs tb :)
Minhaz(1676) whispers: :) }
79.Rb2 {(2:30)
Jammes(1902) whispers: oknow it draw
Mekk(1832) whispers: pity he avoided this b-for 3 pawns sac, would be more fun...
xivarmy(1979) whispers: Kb7 Rb4+ Ka6! Ra4+ Kb5 }
{Game drawn by repetition} 1/2-1/2
mekk (2010-10-20): Plenty of mistakes in ending, but my worst omission happened much earlier. Instead of 29... b5 I had 29... Rxe3 Kxe3 30 Bh6+ after which Rc1 falls (or 29... Rxc1 Rxc1 30 Rxe3) and white is just pawn down....
